Arthroscopy has almost completely replaced traditional arthroscopy and is one of the most common orthopedic procedures. The surgeon, using a small camera (arthroscope) inserted through a small incision, will examine the area around and above the joint, i.e. tissues, cartilage, bones, tendons and ligaments. Arthroscopic tools are inserted through one to three smaller incisions and the process of correcting damage to muscles, tendons or cartilage begins.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><b>Indications <\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The indications for arthroscopic knee surgery are:\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p><ul><li><p><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Rupture of the meniscus (partial resection or stapling)<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li><li><p><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Rupture of the anterior and posterior cruciate ligament (ligamentoplasty)<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li><li><p><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Treatment of a meniscus discoid meniscus<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li><li><p><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Cartilage lesions (osteochondral fractures)<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li><li><p><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Knee bone fractures (arthroscopically assisted reduction and osteosynthesis of knee fractures)<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li><li><p><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Patellar luxation<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li><li><p><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Hyaline fold syndrome <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li><li><p><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Treatment of hymenial chondromatosis\/large cell hymenitis<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li><li><p><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Flushing of the joint in case of inflammation<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><b>Advantages of shoulder arthroscopy<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p><ul><li><p><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Minimal<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> injury to the soft tissues of the joint,<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li><li><p><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Bloodless<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> surgery,<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li><li><p><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Less<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> post-operative pain,<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li><li><p><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Faster<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0post-operative recovery<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li><\/ul><p><b><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u>Complications<\/u><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><br \/>Although uncommon, complications can occur during or after arthroscopy. Local complications of arthroscopic procedures <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>(&lt;1%)<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> may include infection, venous thrombosis, bleeding, and vessel-nerve injury.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><b>Postoperative course<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p><p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\">Depending on the surgery, the length of hospital stay varies from <\/span><b><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\">2 hours <\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\">to <\/span><b><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\">1 day, depending <\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\">, depending on the severity of the surgery<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"><b>.<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"> Postoperatively, our patients receive <\/span><b><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\">a detailed recovery and exercise program<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\">.  Their close post-operative monitoring ensures a smooth recovery. In general, a program of movement therapy exercises <\/span><b><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\">and<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"> strengthening <\/span><b><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\">of<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: Inter;\"> the knee muscles is performed. The rehabilitation program depends directly on the arthroscopic surgery performed and is individualised for each patient.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p><p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family:
